RTI: Railways bought 10 thousand kg of curd! CPRO gave cleanliness

Officers stationed in the Ministry of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu are buying curd from IRCTC at a rate of Rs 10,000 per kg per day, while the refined oil used to make food was bought at Rs 1253 per litre.


Central Railway officials bought these goods at this rate for their Central Warehouse. Central Railway officials refused to respond to RTI earlier on RTI filed by RTI activist Ajay Bose, but later, the facts of the railway officers who have been exposed by the appeals could make anyone's senses fly. This is revealed by the Railways itself through an RTI.

According to The Hindu newspaper, Bose said that he had first filed RTI in July 2016. After that, after not getting satisfactory information, Bose filed an appeal.

According to the information given by the Railways after the appeal, the goods bought by Central Railway for Wear House located in Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, was much higher than the rates in the market.

All these food products were used to supply food to Janet Canteen, Railway Base Kitchen and Deccan Queen and Kurla-Hazrat Nizamuddin Train.

The rate at which the goods were purchased by the IRCTC includes the Toor and moong dal Rs 157 per kg, chicken Rs 233 per kg, salt 49 per kg and bottle of water 59 rupees per bottle. Apart from these items, the purchase of gram flour and tissue paper was also done at a very high price.

According to the RTI, the Central Railway said that he bought 250 kg of flour for Rs 7680, out of which he distributed 450 kg. 450 kg flour was given to 90 kg of flour base Kitchen and 360 kg of public food canteen. Similarly, the Railways purchased 20 kg of flour, but it showed that 35 kg of fine flour was distributed. Where 255 kg of Basmati rice was purchased in the entire year, 745 kg of rice base was divided between Kitchen and Kurla-Nizamuddin trains.

Clarification given by railway
Although the Railways clarified that it could be some type of typing mistake. If something like this happened in the right way, the Railways is also ready to take its investigation and action will also be taken against the guilty officials. Simultaneously, the CPRO of Railways said that the RTI which was mentioned by the Hindu newspaper has many errors in it.
